King County Water District 49, located in Burien, Washington, was in need of additional fire flow and storage for their water system. A new 3.7 million gallon water reservoir was required and Driftmier was brought onto the team to design the CMU building to house the pumps and electrical equipment for the reservoir. The facility includes security fencing and gates, flood proof doors for containing potential leaks, and a bridge crane for future replacement of the pumps.
