Granco Federal Credit Union’s Ephrata Branch remodel has reached substantial completion. The project, located at 217 SW Alder St in Ephrata, WA, remodeled and expanded GRANCO’s main branch and administrative center. Designed by Driftmier Architects of Redmond, the project is being built by Baker Construction of Spokane.
According to DriftmierÔs Project Manager, Arnold Morrison, the finished facility provides more dedicated office space, a new board room, new storage and staff work areas, and a larger more open transaction area. The exterior of the building was completely redone to receive a substantial upgrade with a stone wainscot, HardiePlank¨ beveled siding and heavy wood timber accents giving the building a “Craftsman feel.” The roof was restructured and opened to make way for a new 30′ clearstory bringing in much needed natural light to the center of the building. The entrance was redesigned to give a more inviting presence into the building. Site work included new curbs, heated sidewalks for customer safety, parking lot resurfacing, landscaping and upgrading the drainage and utilities.
Work on the remodel broke ground in April 2014, and reached substantial completion on the 2,368 SF Phase I expansion in September. An extensive remodel to the 5,693 SF existing branch followed the expansion and is now nearing completion. In addition, the 2,800 SF basement is being brought into compliance with current FEMA requirements.
GRANCO occupied the facility throughout construction. The Credit Union operated in the existing portion of the building as the new addition was being completed. Then a temporary teller line was constructed in the new addition and the entire operation was moved over while the existing portion of the building was remodeled.
Final completion of the work is expected in February, 2015. Driftmier is also designing GRANCO’s new Moses Lake Branch.
